black winter

black winter
swallowing us
transcending seasons
it invades us like a thousand battalions
its cannons shoot directly into our chests
and fill our hearts with a snow of eternities
its ground forces marching silently in unison
slowly
creeping across grasses and paveways
discoloring, disenchanting
we stand, our chests still seeping with anticlimactivity
our wounds shed blood flurries like a hell-bound blizzard
is there a sun in the sky still, i cannot see
is there earth beneath my feet still, i cannot feel
is this treacherous beast before me, i cannot tell
are the anjels questing for vengeance
are the demons questing for sabotage?
is this battle before me now
then black winter is the general
we stand, in fear, as the conquest to be had
“remember the colors,” one yells
as we proceed into the fray
